1) Q: What is a DTA?

A: The Evolution DTAs are a low-cost digital-to-analog converter offered with and without embedded security. It is a perfect solution for cable operators looking to reclaim analog bandwidth.

2) Q: Is a DTA a "Coupon Box"?

A: No. The Evolution DTA is not a Coupon Box. It is a cable receiver, not an off-air receiver.

3) Q: What kind of security is offered in a DTA?

A: Evolution sells two types of DTAs: Universal DTAs compliant with Motorola and Scientific Atlanta conditional access and DVB DTAs that support Conax conditional access. The security components are embedded in the DTA devices.

4) Q: Is the embedded security legal for deployment?

A: Yes. The FCC has granted waivers for both SD and HD DTA devices with embedded security.

5) Q: Is High Definition supported on the DTAs?

A: Yes. Evolution sells both SD and HD DTAs for all types of security.

6) Q: Is MPEG-4 supported on the DTAs?

A: Yes. Evolution's HD DTAs support MPEG-4.

7) Q: What services are usually offered on the Evolution DTA?

A: With SD DTAs, basic and extended basic services are usually offered on the DTA. With HD DTAs, premium services can be supported.

8) Q: Does the Evolution DTA require a CableCARD?

A: No.

9) Q: Can I offer VOD or PPV with the DTAs?

A: No.

10) Q: Can I put a guide on a DTA?

A: Yes. Evolution's DTAs can run either a simple now and next guide or a grid based guide.

11) Q: Does the DTA support Switched Digital Video (SDV)?
