NCTC Signs Multi-Year Evolution Digital Deal to Bring Member’s Savings on DTAs and TiVo Set-Top BoxesBy Evolution Digital & NCTC Staff | Tue, 21 Feb 2012 Centennial, CO, February 20, 2012 – Evolution Digital, the
fastest growing supplier of digital solutions for bandwidth reclamation and
next generation advanced set-top boxes, today announced that it signed a
multi-year agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC), a
not-for-profit corporation that operates as a programming and hardware
purchasing corporation for nearly 1,000 member companies. Under this
agreement, NCTC is able to provide their members lower price per unit by
aggregating member orders for Evolution Digital’s SD and HD uDTAs and TiVo®
Premiere DVRs. Evolution Digital is first to market with their HD uDTA at NCTC, already receiving multiple orders through NCTC for delivery in April for this low-cost HD solution that works on operators existing Motorola and Cisco systems. NCTC and Evolution Digital have also worked to include many additional value-added programs that will benefit the members. These programs include Evolution’s Factory-To-Home-Fulfillment with custom branded self-install kits even for smaller quantity orders. Evolution also included their TiVo launch program, complete with a user-friendly online operator portal to manage activations, a TiVo Operator Toolkit, training and marketing kick-off support for NCTC members. “Evolution is a good example of a nimble and innovative supplier for NCTC’s members,” said Rich Fickle, NCTC President and CEO. “They have brought members a cost-effective solution for both their own uDTAs and for set-top boxes through their relationship with TiVo.” “NCTC provides a real value to independent operators, which was evident in the extremely thorough negotiation process both parties endured. They are very tough negotiators, and as a previous NCTC member myself, I’m very excited to be a part of this process,” states Marc Cohen, EVP of Sales for Evolution Digital. “The outcome is an agreement that allows the independent operator to quickly deploy the latest technology for bandwidth reclamation and advanced set-top boxes and launch advanced services.” Through this new agreement over 1,000 member companies have access to Evolution Digital’s SD uDTA and HD uDTA series, designed to work in existing Motorola and Cisco systems, and TiVo Premiere DVR with the award-winning TiVo Service. Both products are available on individual order basis and through aggregated orders for lower pricing. In the coming months HD uDTA and TiVo multi-room boxes will be added to this agreement. “Evolution Digital is dedicated to delivering the latest technology to independent cable operators. One of our core missions at Evolution is to bring the same level of technological advancement and innovative services available in major metropolitans to all rural areas,” states Brent Smith, President of Evolution Digital. “It’s partnerships like this with NCTC that will make this economical and feasible for operators in all areas at all sizes.” ###
