Compton Leads the Canadian Cable Industry in Providing Subscribers the Ultimate Entertainment Experience

(Toronto, ONT. - December 15, 2009) - Compton Communications, headquartered outside of Toronto, Ontario, is the first Canadian Operator to launch TiVo® HD DVRs through Evolution Digital, a leading supplier of digital solutions for bandwidth reclamation and next generation advanced set-top boxes.

Evolution is providing Compton with TiVo HD DVRs through a cable operator focused partnership with TiVo Inc. whereby Evolution is streamlining the process for small to mid-sized operators to launch the ultimate HD DVR and entertainment experience.

"Now that the TiVo HD DVR is a one-box solution in Canada, acting as the sole cable box, TiVo's brand recognition as the world's leading user interface and DVR made it the logical next step to enhance our product offering," states Travis Campbell, Marketing Manager of Compton Communications. "It has been Compton's goal to offer our customers the very best, cutting-edge entertainment choices available. With TiVo HD DVRs being CableCARD compatible and no infrastructure or expensive equipment needed to launch, it was a clear decision."

"TiVo is pleased to have Compton Communications and Evolution Digital offering TiVo HD DVRs for the first time in Canada," said Joshua Danovitz, Vice President, General Manager of TiVo International. "This will give Canadian consumers access to the world's best DVR and entertainment experience, now in HD."

TiVo HD DVRs provide Canadian subscribers with the complete HD experience. Much more than an ordinary PVR (Personal Video Recorder) or cable box, offering customers next generation search functionality, ease of use and TiVo suggestions that match their interests. Features like Season Pass® recordings, WishList® searches and TiVo® KidZone place TiVo HD DVRs in a league of their own for end-user satisfaction. In addition, broadband connected TiVo HD DVRs give users the mobility to set recordings from their office desk or smartphones such as a Blackberry or iPhone and with TiVo Desktop Plus, sold separately, users can also download recordings to their iPod, PSP, etc.

Compton Communications plans to launch TiVo HD DVRs in time for this year's Holiday season, and will offer customers an attractive rental option, allowing customers for the first time to pay a low monthly fee for TiVo HD DVRs and still get all the benefits of the TiVo service.

Evolution will be supporting Compton in their launch and implementation of TiVo HD DVRs. "Evolution's in the final stages of developing an operator portal to provide MSOs, such as Compton, with easy access to real-time support and launch tools," said Brent Smith, president of Evolution Digital. "Evolution will be providing cable operators with tools such as marketing resources, training programs and material for both CSR and Technicians, and logistics tools including an extremely user-friendly activation portal to activate and de-activate TiVo subscriptions."
